the grand canyon workshop

The 10th Edition of the KING of all workshops!

the Grand Canyon by Rodger NewboldExperience six marvelous days exploring and photographing one of "The Wonders of the World" along the less visited North Rim of the Grand Canyon, interleaved with a day investigating photographic concepts, digital workflow and printing in the brand NEW conference center at the Jacob Lake Inn, Arizona.

Monday morning we will greet the sunrise from a spectacular viewpoint, then we will work our way along the plateau before photographing sunset from one of the remote points on the canyon edge.

Tuesday we will day trip to a near by slot canyon for excitement. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday will be spent exploring and photographing many intriguing places about the rim and the surrounding areas. You will also have an opportunity to photograph the blazing autumn color at its finest, Mother Nature willing.

Thursday we will investigate the Art of photography, the hardware, workflow, printing options and an introduction to Adobe's Photoshop.

Participants just need show up and they will be ferried to some of the most beautiful scenes in the world. Participants will have the use of a digital SLR camera and computer if they do not have one. However, this workshop is open to all camera formats and all camera types (film included).

PARTICIPANTS: each person will need a camera (digital or film - any size format), a tripod, a generous supply of digital media or film, jacket/rain gear, light shirt, a canteen is also a must, and a selection of lenses are recommended.

ACCOMMODATIONS: double occupancy rooms will be provided at the Jacob Lake Inn (single occupancy $75.00 per night additional).
Meals will be provided Monday evening through Friday night with breakfast only on Saturday.

LIMITED SIZE: This workshop is limited to 10. The first ten to pay tuition will receive their reservation. Everyone with a reservation should attend ,if at all possible, the planning meeting, for car pooling, travel information and a last minute weather updates. All locations are weather and 4-wheel drive dependent, but we try our very best!
